Mattel recalls Mexican-made toy kitchens

Mattel Inc, the world's largest toymaker, is recalling over 170000 Mexican-made toy kitchens sold in the United States and Europe because small pieces pose a choking hazard to young children.

Mattel recalles 1.5 million Chinese made toys tainted with lead

Mattel is recalling 1.5 million Chinese made toys containing too much lead. The tainted toys, made for Mattel's Fisher-Price unit, include popular pre-school characters such Elmo and Big Bird among others. They were made by Chinese manufacturer using a non-approved paint pigment containing lead.
