Contaminated Chinese-made toothpaste found in US prisons

Contaminated Chinese-made toothpaste were shipped to US prisons and mental hospitals in Georgiaa sign that U.S. distribution of the tainted products was wider than initially thought.

Officials said the toothpaste contaminated with diethylene glycol, which is often found in antifreeze, was immediately taken out of use as soon as federal officials notified the state about the problem.

Man sues energy drink 'Boost Plus' for endless erection

A man from New York City has sued the maker of the energy drink Boost Plus.

According to court papers, the man said that he woke up the next morning "with an erection that would not subside" and sought treatment for the condition, which is called priapism.

80% of U.S. males ages 18 to 24 now watch online videos at least once a week, with a majority of Americans (52%) aged 12 to 64 also going online weekly to view news, movie previews and user-generated videos, according to a report from market research firm Frank N. Magid Associates.

Moscow is the most expensive city in the world

Moscow is the most expensive city in the world to live in followed by London.

Copenhagen, Geneva, Zurich and Oslo also made the top 10, together with mostly Japanese towns and Hong Kong.

The global top 50 saw 30 European cities named. Milan (11), St Petersburg (12), Paris (13) and Dublin (16) also scored high, with Dublin now just 0.4 percent less expensive than New York and pricier than Rome.

65,000 state workers personal info stolen

The names and Social Security numbers of every state employee were stolen earlier this week, Gov. Ted Strickland said Friday.

He said, however, the information was contained on specialized electronic files, making it hard for a thief to access.

Toxic fake "Colgate" toothpaste in U.S

Counterfeit "Colgate" toothpaste that may contain a toxic chemical had been found in discount stores in four U.S. states. "There are indications that this product does not contain fluoride and may contain diethylene glycol," the company said in a statement.

Colgate said it does not use, nor has ever used, diethylene glycol as an ingredient in its toothpaste anywhere in the world.

The Colgate announcement comes less than two weeks after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned consumers to avoid any toothpaste made in China after inspectors found DEG in tubes sold at two stores.

Don't use toothpaste made in China

The FDA warned consumers Friday not to use toothpaste made in China after officials say they have identified at least 16 brands of imported toothpaste potentially containing diethylene glycol, a chemical that can be used as a sweetener and thickening agent but that is toxic to humans.

AOL Uncut to launch in June to compete with Youtube

AOL is set to bring user-generated video upload service UnCut out of beta and officially launch it in June. The new service will be implemented on many of AOL's platforms including AIM and the new social network service, Fred McIntyre, AOL's chief online video executive told Beet.TV.
